Blues and Royals

Cpl of Horse Barry. Cox Aged 28.
Attached to the A.A.C. Was killed with four soldiers when the car they had been using was booby trapped while they were inside
the "Knock-Na-Moe Castle" Hotel in Omagh in County Tyrone. While opening the car doors it exploded killing them. 
They were off duty at the time of their deaths.

Trooper Anthony Dykes. Aged 25.
Shot dead by a group of snipers at the Anderson Town RUC police station in West Belfast along with Trooper Thornett. Aged 20.

Seven Bandsmen of the Royal Green Jackets were killed when the IRA detonated two bombs in Hyde Park in London.
The first bomb was attached to the Band Stand and was detonated as the band played, The second bomb was detonated
as the Men and Horses of the Blues and Royals passed by.
Four men of the Blues and Royals were killed in the blast along with several horses.
The IRA claimed responsibility for this cowardly attack.
